Assessing language learning strategies employed by university English major students in Saudi Arabia

چکیده

This study sought to explore the frequency and type of language learning strategies employed by university students. It also investigated impact proficiency levels, gender year on use strategies. The participants were 256 English major students enrolled in three universities Saudi Arabia. Strategy Inventory for Language Learning questionnaire data collection. results reported that used at a high level. Metacognitive most commonly used, whereas memory least used. In addition, higher their more Female tended memory, cognitive, metacognitive, compensation affective frequently than did male No significant differences found relation study.
